Made from Pennisetum Purpureum natural fiber & Leather.

Pennisetum purpureum natural fiber - also known as elephant grass. It does not receive any chemical treatments. Straw may have light variations in colors and thickness which appears in the final basket.
The natural process of vegetable tanning leaves the leather grain visible, therefore some variations in textures may appear on both sides of the leather. This process allows the material to aged beautifully.

Inès Bressand is a French designer known for her sculptural, ethically crafted objects that blend contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. Based in Marseille, she works across disciplines—most notably in accessories and furniture—while maintaining a strong focus on materials and artisanal techniques. Her signature pieces, such as the Akamae basket bags, are created in collaboration with weavers in Ghana using elephant grass, then shaped and finished in France. With a background in fashion, textile, and social design, Bressand brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to her work, celebrating the natural qualities of materials and the hands that shape them. Her designs are as much about cultural exchange and sustainability as they are about form and function.
